Our Story

Hawthorne Fencing was founded in 2018 by Marcus Ellison in Southwest Florida. What started as a two-person operation focused on ornamental iron grew from a simple belief: fences should be built like architecture, not like afterthoughts.
Marcus spent a decade in architectural metalwork before pivoting to residential fencing. He saw an industry that cut corners, rushed installations, and treated fence work as commodity labor. He saw an opportunity to do the opposite.
Today, Hawthorne is a full-service fencing studio serving Florida's Gulf Coast — still family-run, still obsessive about the details. From ornamental iron estates to modern cedar privacy to automated gate systems, every project gets the same treatment: careful planning, premium materials, and installation crews who take pride in their work.

Our Philosophy
We source every board, every picket, every pane of glass directly. No middle-quality substitutions. If the material isn't right, it doesn't go on your property.
Every post is laser-leveled. Every panel is plumbed. Every gate swings true. We build slower because we build once.
A fence isn't just functional — it's the frame around your home. We design with your landscape, your architecture, and your neighborhood in mind.
The Details

Our installation crews average 6+ years of experience with Hawthorne. We don't subcontract. Every team member is trained in our methods, understands our standards, and takes ownership of their work.
From the initial consultation through final walkthrough, you'll work with people who care about the outcome as much as you do. It's a small company on purpose — so every client feels like the only client.
